Volunteers who work behind the scenes are the very backbone of Kidzfest! There are many opportunities available that don’t involve direct interaction with our guests.
Volunteer Hub Attendant
Want to get to know your fellow volunteers and help get them started for the day? Then the Volunteer Hub is for you! Working alongside our Volunteer Program Leader, you’ll be checking in volunteers, making sure they get their name tags and any other gear their role needs for the day.
Responsibilities include:
- Greet volunteers and sign them in & out
- Hand out name tags, T-shirts, Team Toolkits and other gear
- Assure everything is handed back at the end of the day
- Direct Volunteers to where they need to be
- Assist and communicate to Volunteer Prog Leader
- Encourage Volunteers to provide feedback, record feedback
- Offer big smiles and much appreciation to all the volunteers
- Complete Daily Feedback Form and turn it in to the Volunteer Program Leader
This role is well supported by the Volunteer Program Leader and includes special training.
Foodie Crew
Want to keep your fellow volunteers happy and fuelled for the day? Then our Foodie Crew is for you! The Foodie Crew Members support and work alongside our Foodie Captain to feed the entire Kidzfest Support Team; including volunteers, staff and artists.
This position includes free Foodsafe Certification with the commitment of 2 x 4-hour shifts over the 3 day festival.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in sorting food donations and delivering them to stations
- Prepare simple snacks and light lunch as guided by the Foodie Captain
- Assist in keeping food station clean and organized
This role is well supported by the Volunteer Program Leader and includes special training.
Activity Prep Crew
Are you the crafty type? Want to volunteer and need a flexible schedule?
Activity Prep Crew Members will enjoy a variety of tasks like cutting, sorting and preparing activity packages. Take on as much or as little as you like!
Activity Prep Crew Members can work at home on their own time or talk with the Volunteer Program Leader about joining one of the group prepping sessions (or you can organize one of your own with friends and family)!
Responsibilities include:
- Complete tasks as directed
- Ensure materials are returned to Kidzfest in a timely manner
- Communicate any needs and concerns to the Volunteer Program Leader
Go Getters
Do you like to get out and about and get things done? There are many options to choose from as a Go Getter! You can do anything from making call to running errands to picking up donations to drop off thank you cards and more!
Responsibilities include:
- Complete tasks as directed and in a timely manner
- Communicate any needs and concerns to the Volunteer Program Leader
Set-up Crews
Looking for a workout while you invest in your community?
Kidzfest has 2 highly valued Set Up Crews that bring the festival to life!
As part of the Site Set Up Crew you will assist companies to haul and assemble their fencing and tents.
After the gates and tents are up the Festival Set up Crew slips in to add all the details that make the magic happen!
Crew members must be able to walk, bend and safely lift a variety of items.
Festival Set up Crew Responsibilities include:
- Move tables, chairs, supplies and put up signs as per Kidsfest Directors guidance
- Set up tent furniture and other festival equipment
- At the end, take it all apart again
- Communicate any needs and concerns to the Volunteer Program Leader
Photographer / Videographer
Are you a natural shutterbug or do you love to make videos? Then we have an exciting volunteer opportunity for you! We want you to capture a wide variety of images and/or videos in each of the many aspects of Kidzfest!
