Kidzfest Special Services

Kidzfest Special Special Services volunteers have excellent communication skills and a love for providing care and support. These roles are mostly stationary with some options to move around the site on a rotation.

This role is well supported by the Volunteer Program Leader and includes special training.

Greeters

Greeters are stationed at strategic locations at the festival site to welcome guests to the festival. Greeters are a very important feature of Kidzfest because they are often the first volunteers our thousands of guests meet!

Responsibilities include: 

  • Stay in one place for the entire shift (except when you take a break)
  • Provide a friendly welcome to every guest that visits the site
  • Communicate any needs or concerns to Volunteer Program Leader

This role is well supported by the Volunteer Program Leader and includes special training.

Information Booth Attendant 

The Information Booth Attendant is at the center of the festival to provide information and support the first aid attendant with minor incidents. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Collect and manage lost and found items
  • Provide information to guests 
  • May be responsible for performers’ merch (cash only)
  • Communicate any questions or concerns to the Volunteer Program Leader

This role is well supported by the Volunteer Program Leader and includes special training.

Security Crew Member  

Security Crew Members have excellent communication skills and enjoy being outdoors. Security Crew Members can stay at one station or rotate from station to station, keeping the festival site and parking area safe and free of possible hazards. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Monitor festival exits and festival fences
  • Walk the festival site to look for hazards or security concerns 
  • Communicate any questions or concerns to the Volunteer Program Leader
  • Must have your own cell phone 

 

This role is well supported by the Volunteer Program Leader and includes special training.

 

First Aid Attendant 

If you are interested in this role, we will provide free certification training for a commitment of 3 x four-hour shifts over the 3 day festival. 

As a First Aid Attendant you will be stationed at the Information Booth ready to handle any minor first aid issues and communicate any more serious concerns directly to our on site paramedic. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Attend to minor first aid concerns around the site when necessary
  • Complete incident reports
  • Record supplies used
  • Communicate needs and concerns to Volunteer Program Leader
