Presented in partnership with a wide variety of local organizations, our Activity Tents give our guests plenty to explore and experience in their time at Kidzfest.

Indigenous Village

This year's Indigenous Village is in partnership with Ooknakane Friendship Centre. Activities include:
- Feather & bead necklaces
- Rock painting
- Drumming

Tales on the Trolley

Punch your ticket to a special story time on the Kidzfest trolley! Tales on the Trolley is a chance to sit and enjoy some fun and entertaining stories with a variety of storytellers throughout the festival. Space on the trolley is limited so check the schedule near the trolley for the next available time.

Where Our Stories Meet - Connections Obstacle Course

In the Connections Obstacle Course, you will discover how your story connects to other festival goers. Get your set of stickers from the activity host, follow the path and use your stickers to answer the questions you find along the way. You will see that we are more connected than we sometimes realize!

Penticton Public Library - Story Cubes

Create a set of Story Dice with the Penticton Public Library so that you can create stories wherever you go! Personalize your own set of dice for you and your family to play anywhere.
The wooden dice are thanks to donations by Windsor Plywood and Rona Home Building Centre and the dedicated work of the Penticton Men's Shed.

Penticton Art Gallery - The Story of Famous Artists

Learn a bit of the story of some famous historical artists. Then create a personalized button in the style of your favourite artist!

Penticton Vees - History of the Vees Mural Creation

Learn the Story of the Vees and the history of hockey in Penticton. Be a part of creating a special art banner that you just might see back at the SOEC. You will have to head over to the Vees tent to join in the unique way that we are painting this banner -- you won't miss to miss your shot on this one!

Penticton Academy of Music - Musical Instrument Exploration & Creation

Explore a wide variety of musical instruments and have an opportunity to create one of your very own!

Kidzfest Craft Tent - Create a Keychain

Design and decorate your own shrink plastic keychain. Perfect to attach to your Kidzfest lanyard or school backpack!

Penticton Museum - History Gameshow

Check out the Museum tent and find the answers so you are ready to play! Find the Game Show times posted at the museum tent for your chance to watch, participate and maybe win!

SOICS - Language Exploration

Come and say "Hello" at the SOICS tent! Using a variety of technologies, you can learn to say and write hello in many languages and alphabets.

Princess Margaret Leadership - Stories & Technology

Learn to use technology to create stories in a couple of ways:

  1. Green Screen Tent - Bring your friends for a photo climbing Mount Everest, sailing on a pirate ship. or travelling to the moon. Using a green screen and photoshop you will have a great story to tell of your adventures!
  2. Stop Motion Animation - Using cameras and stop motion technology, create a short video and learn great techniques that you can use to create more video stories at home!

Penticton First Baptist Church - LEGO

Spend some time creating on your own or with friends in our LEGO tent hosted by the Penticton First Baptist Church.

Penticton Robotics - Demo & Display

The Penticton Robotics Team is made up of students from bothe Princess Margaret Secondary and Penticton Secondary Schools. Each year they build a robot from scratch to compete in provincial, national and possibly international competitions. Come and meet this year's team and robot and find out how it works. A small display area will be used for the team to demonstrate the robot's abilities. You will also see a larger display of the robot on the main stage once per day.

Dragonfly Pond - Quiet Tent

The Quiet Tent is in place for our guests who need a break from the intensity of the regular festial programming. Receive support from the Dragonfly Pond Society, including this Quiet Tent as well as sensory kits available for borrowing during your time at the festival. Sensory kits for loan are provided by the Penticton Vees.

City of Penticton Sustainability Department - High 5 Story Collage

Learn about sustainability projects in our community including an opportunity to reuse some old books for a "High 5" Kidzfest collage. A Book Recycling bin will also be available at this station if you have books to bring that you would like to have recycled.

Pegboards & Colouring Boards

Throughout the park, take a break from all of the activities at one of our boards. Make a picture or pattern using the colourful pegs on our large pegboards or colour a section of the great big colouring posters!

Pop-up Play

Watch for our Pop-Up Play volunteers showing up at different points throughout the day, bringing fun and temporary activities: giant bubbles, games, ribbon wands, a REALLY big beach ball, and more! You never know what might just pop up!

Face Painting

Kidzfest is pleased to offer a variety of face painting options at Kidzfest 2024. Guests may choose to pay a low fee for the incredible, professional artistry of Faery Dragon Face Painting or a free face painting option by some of our Kidzfest volunteers. There is a face painting option for everyone.

This beautiful land on which we gather, play and live, is the ancestral, traditional and unceded territory of the Syilx (Okanagan) peoples, who have been here for thousands of years.
